We are always delighted when Black*Scarr return to the Country Soul but this time around it’s with the addition of electric guitar, bass and drums it is in fact The Black*Scarr Band! Formed by East London duo Emma Scarr & Johnny Black, whose differing writing styles and influences have collided to produce a rather lovely marriage of dreamy realism
The True Believers
The CSS is also delighted that South London outfit The True Believers will also be returning to play for us at the July CSS. Named after Nanci Griffith’s ‘Last of The True Believers’ the band formed in Ladywell in SE London in 2016. Influenced by classic acts such as Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Hank Williams, Joni Mitchell, Pentangle Et al

We are extremely pleased to say that South London born singer/songwriter Robert Hacker Jessett will also be joining us for the July Country Soul. Mr Jessett or commonly known as ‘Hacker’ is of course one half of the amazing ‘urban country’ duo Morton Valence an outfit that the Country Soul has always considered a class act.
